5 AM Feedings

I know, I know, I just posted about how wonderful it is that he's sleeping longer, but i truly will miss these early morning/late nite feedings. As some of you know, Owen isn't that easy to hold. He keeps his legs very stiff, and so he's not at all a cuddler....except for....middle of the night feedings. I love it when he snuggles into me, and rests his cheek on my chest. I can sense his feelings of safety and love sink deep into me as he nestles down. I love that he'll smile up at me so big as if to say, "don't put me back yet mom, I'm too cute, and I'm not ready to leave your arms." I let him win sometimes:)

I love those night time quiet moments. But I hear ya...getting up again and again and again is EXHAUSTING. (And I can't give that enough emphasis.)

Yay, also, for kids that start to eat food (rice cereal comment). It helps when you start to get any kind of a break. I love being able to just cut up food and put it on the boys' trays now and they can feed themselves. WOW. It is amazing.

Rhianna, I love your gratitude blog! This entry about nightime feedings is so sweet. Those late night feedings can sometimes be the best moments to bond.
