Gratitude

So, I read a blog tonite and each day in the month of November, she posted something she was thankful for. Not only is this a great idea, but then a bunch of you can get off my back about not posting any new posts:) I realize it's the 12th, but I thought I would try it out too. Let me see if I can remember some stuff from earlier this month.

11/6 My daughter Kailey. She is so dang cute lately. She's really grasped on to the concept of prayer. She folds her arms so good, and makes sure that she's part of the circle or group for prayer. She loves saying nighttime prayers. She is such a joy. She also likes reading scriptures with me and Dan in the morning. She needs her own copy, and she knows it's a "special book," so she's really careful with the pages. I just love her so much!

11/7 Wed, I'm thankful that I don't have to go to Walmart everyday. I bought Owen a new outfit at Walmart as well as a bottle of cleaner with bleach, and of course 198$ of other stuff. Why is it that I can't get out of Walmart without spening less than that...anyway, I get home, unload my kids and groceries and realize that what...of course, the bleach spilled all over everything. So I had to load both my kids back up, go back to Walmart, wait in customer service for 15 minutes, go back and get new cleaner and a new outfit (which of course there wasn't his size), go back to customer service, and wait another 5 minutes. What a nightmare!

11/8 Thurs, I was incredibly thankful for my husband. He went to the BYU home game and got home kind of late. We were all in bed, including the kids. (Of course, I raced off my computer game of solitaire to pretend to be asleep in bed.) Before he went to bed, he went into each kids room, checked on them, and probably told them he loved them. It melted my heart.

11/9 Fri, We hung out with Dan's brother Tony and his wife Jocelyn. We played cards for hours, and I love card games! I am thankful for good friends like Tony and Jocelyn.

11/11 I am thankful for a certain extracurricular activity that takes place in the bedroom.

11/12. I went to costco. Isn't costco a wonderful place! Free samples, boxes of 200 count diapers, great snack bar, and a double seater shopping cart. What more could one possibly want?! I'm grateful for costco!

You make me laugh! I can't believe that you said that you like a certain extra-curricular activity that takes place in the bedroom... I miss hearing you say funny things like that on a daily basis. Let's hang out more, ok?

I LOVE the wonder that is Costco. Matt introduced me to this wonderful world almost a year ago, and my life has never been the same.

Ugh, Walmart. I hate it, but I did buy a lovely coat there a couple of weeks ago for 60 bucks, so for that reason I go to Walmart. And every once and while I am pleasantly surprised.

I LOVE the comment about Dan checking on the kids, I got a little misty. Very cute.

And LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the comment about Kailey, I can't believe how big and grown-up she is getting! It sounds like you are teaching her well, good job mom!

p.s. Thanks for posting, I've missed you! And for reminding me of what I am thankful for.

I've been making my own gratitude lists of sorts for the past couple of days in the evening before I go to bed. Helps me recognize everything that I have and love, all that is sweet in my life.

I also love the extracurricular activities, watching kids grow, and watching Scott with our boys. There is something so darling and endearing to see dads with their kids.

Life is sweet.

Oh, and I'm grateful for YOU.

That is so cute about Kailey and the scriptures. You should be proud of yourself for teaching her that they are important! It's amazing what they can pick up on at such a young age. Precious.
